How to compress .avi files

Things you will need:
Windows Movie Maker
.avi File
STEPS =
-Open Windows Movie Maker
-Import desired video
-Put video in the timeline bar
-Click "Publish Movie"
-Publish it to your computer
-Select "Best quality for playback on my computer"
-Now publish your video
-Look at the difference in size!
It went from 870,884 KB to 9,268 KB
